If you are looking for a divorce lawyer who will keep the whole process simple and painless, you should contact Lyn Lucas who is an innovative, compassionate and experienced divorce lawyer. Lyn has been married and divorced twice, and believes this makes her an expert in understanding divorce law, and what clients go through following separation. For most of her working life Lyn has been employed in legal offices starting as a Junior Clerk, and later Legal Secretary to lawyers and barristers, Associate to a Supreme Court Judge, then as a Law clerk. Studying as a mature age student after being encouraged to take up law, Lyn was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and the High Court of Australia, in 1993.
After employment with two legal firms specialising in family law, Lyn took the plunge and opened her own law firm in February 1999.
Over more than twenty five years Lyn has seen the impact on her clients of dealing with the Family Law Court, their overwhelm with the process, and the high legal costs of a divorce and property settlement. The Court is continually trying to improve the process but the traumatic effect on clients remains, they find it difficult to understand the long process they need to go through, and the escalating costs that seem endless.
Lyn believed that there had to be a better way to resolve property settlements, particularly for clients who had reached agreement as to how they wanted to divide their property. Through her training as a Mediator in 1995, Lyn brings these skills into the negotiations between her clients to finalise their agreement without recourse to litigation. This process saves time and stress, but more importantly keeps their costs to an acceptable level. If there is no dispute as to the property division, Lyn can act for both parties and negotiate a fixed fee that is shared between the parties.
Lyn has created an innovative online law practice that is a first in Australia, and received the approval of the NSW Law Society. The Family Law Act is a federal act, so the same legislation applies throughout Australia, so Lyn can service clients wherever they live. With modern technology it is no problem to connect with clients in other States and guide them through the process of a divorce settlement.
For those who are entering into a new relationship, or are already in a relationship, Lyn prepares Cohabitation, or Pre Nuptial Agreements, aimed to protect the assets each party brought into the relationship, and generally provides that in the event of a breakdown of the relationship each party will retain those assets, and divides other assets accumulated while they are together. Far from indicating a lack of trust in your partner, these agreements protect assets and save thousands of dollars in legal costs if there is a separation.

Some nice thoughts :
It was a pleasure to work with Lyn when she helped me with my property settlement. I found Lyn to be a very compassionate, patient and very understanding person, which was what I needed during such an awful time. The work was finished sooner than I expected and the costs were less than I anticipated. Lyn always communicated quickly and efficiently and made me feel valued and not just another number. Lyn also prepared my new estate planning documents once the settlement was completed. I have already recommended Lyn to several of my friends and acquaintances who have been very happy with the service Lyn has offered. I would highly recommend Lyn to anyone going through a divorce settlement.

Lyn is a very efficient and capable lawyer and handled my property settlement in a short time. She has a great deal of empathy and really understands the trauma of going through a divorce. Not only did she prepare the relevant documents, she assisted with the transfer of the real estate into my name.

Lyn organised our online divorce application, she was very capable and we had no problem communicating or getting documents signed. She was very understanding of my position.
